After 16 seconds, the indicator light will flash slowly.
This shows that the system is fully armed. Pressing the trunk button will not disarm the system. If someone enters the vehicle through the trunk and opens any door, the alarm will sound. The VSA system is designed to protect your vehicle; however, you can create conditions where the system will give you a false alarm. If one of the previously described arming sequences has occurred, the system will arm regardless of whether you are in the vehicle or not. If you remain in the vehicle and open a door, the alarm will sound.
If this occurs, disarm the system. If the alarm system is armed and the battery becomes disconnected the system will remain armed when the battery is reconnected. The exterior lights will flash, the horn will sound, and the ignition will not start the vehicle.
If the alarm was triggered, but the warning signals have timed out, the park and taillights flash three times instead of the normal twice when unlocking the vehicle with a valid RKE transmitter to alert the driver.
This feature also turns on the approach lighting if so equipped. The lights will fade to off after about 30 seconds or they will immediately fade to off once the ignition switch is. If your Remote Lock Control fails to operate from a normal distance, check for these two conditions:.
Remove and replace the batteries. Avoid touching the new batteries with your fingers. Skin oils may cause battery deterioration. If you touch the battery, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Reassemble the transmitter case. Snap the halves together and test transmitter operation. If something triggers the alarm, the system will signal for up to 18 minutes.
For the first three minutes the horn will sound and the headlights and interior lights will flash. Then the horn will stop and if the source of the trigger is still present, the lights will continue to flash for another 15 minutes. NOTE: The engine will not start until you disarm the system. Lock the door using either the power door lock switch, the key, or the Keyless Entry Transmitter and close all doors. The light in the instrument cluster will flash rapidly for 15 seconds. This shows that the system is arming.
If the light comes on but does not flash, the system is still armed, but there is a problem in the trunk circuit. After 15 seconds the light will continue to flash slowly. This shows that the system is fully armed. If the horn sounds 3 times when you unlock a front door using either a key or the Keyless Entry Transmitter, the alarm had been triggered. Check the vehicle for tampering. Use the key or the Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter to open the trunk from outside the vehicle.
From inside the car the trunk lid can be released by depressing the Trunk Release Button located on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel. The transmission must be in Park. Vehicles with manual transmissions must be at zero mph for the switch to work. The odometer display will reappear once the trunk is closed or if the trip button is depressed. Do not allow children to have access to the trunk, either by climbing into the trunk from outside, or through the inside of the vehicle.
Always close the trunk lid when your vehicle is unattended. Once in the trunk, young children may not be able to escape, even if they entered through the rear seat. If trapped in the trunk, children can die from suffocation or heat stroke. In the event of an individual being locked inside the trunk, the trunk can be simply opened by pulling on the glow-in-the-dark handle attached to the trunk latching mechanism. See picture. The driver's window switch has an Auto Down feature.

Wind buffeting can be described as the perception of pressure on the ears or a helicopter type sound in the ears. Your vehicle may exhibit wind buffeting with the windows down, or in certain open or partially open positions. This is a normal occurrence and can be minimized. If the buffeting occurs with the rear windows open, open the front and rear windows together to minimize the buffeting.
Some of the most important safety features in your vehicle are the restraint systems. These include the front and rear seat belts for the driver and all passengers, front airbags for both the driver and front passenger and, if so equipped, left and right window bags for the driver and passengers seated next to a window. If you will be carrying children too small for adult-size belts, your seat belts also can be used to hold infant and child restraint systems. In a collision, you and your passengers can suffer much greater injuries if you are not properly buckled up.
You can strike the interior of your vehicle or other passengers, or you can be thrown out of the vehicle. Always be sure you and others in your vehicle are buckled up properly. Buckle up even though you are an excellent driver, even on short trips. Someone on the road may be a poor driver and cause a collision which includes you. This can happen far away from home or on your own street. Research has shown that seat belts save lives, and they can reduce the seriousness of injuries in a collision.
Some of the worst injuries happen when people are thrown from the vehicle. Seat belts reduce the possibility of ejection and the risk of injury caused by striking the inside of the vehicle. Everyone in a motor vehicle should be belted at all times. The belt webbing retractor is designed to lock during very sudden stops or impacts.
This feature allows the shoulder part of the belt to move freely with you under normal conditions. But in a collision, the belt will lock and reduce your risk of striking the inside of the vehicle or being thrown out. Seat belts are designed to go around the large bones of your body. These are the strongest parts of your body and can take the forces of a collision the best. Wearing your belt in the wrong place could make your injuries in a collision much worse. You might suffer internal injuries, or you could even slide out of part of the belt.
Follow these instructions to wear your seat belt safely and to keep your passengers safe, too. People belted together can crash into one another in an accident, hurting one another badly. Enter the vehicle and close the door. Sit back and adjust the front seat. The seat belt latch plate is above the back of your seat. Grasp the latch plate and pull out the belt.
Slide the latch plate up the webbing as far as necessary to make the belt go around your lap. The lap portion could ride 2 too high on your body, possibly causing internal injuries. Always buckle your belt into the buckle nearest you. In a sudden stop you could move too far forward, increasing the possibility of injury.
Wear your seat belt snugly. Your body could strike the inside surfaces of the vehicle in a collision, increasing head and neck injury. A belt worn under the arm can cause internal injuries. Ribs aren't as strong as shoulder bones. Wear the belt over your shoulder so that your strongest bones will take the force in a collision. You are more likely to hit your head in a collision if you do not wear your shoulder belt. The lap and shoulder belt are meant to be used together.
Position the lap belt across your thighs, below your abdomen. To remove slack in the lap belt portion, pull up a bit on the shoulder belt. In addition, the model has changed the smooth flanks to creased character lines changing the exterior design of the model. Side window framing is done in black, and the body color is optional on all trim levels. Its base model encompasses cruise controls, inch wheels of steel, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, complete power accessories, and CD-stereo.
Moving to the Touring, it incorporates alloy wheels of inch, stereo speakers, LED lighting cabin, and clothe upholstery with stain-resistant quality. To ensure the safety of the passengers, the model has incorporated features like antilock brakes, tire-pressure monitor, front-seat side airbags, and head curtain bags of full-length. Furthermore, every four-cylinder model comes with front and rear disc drum brakes, and four-wheel discs are added in the V6 engine models.
In addition, though, it has an optional feature for stability control.
